Balancing mummydom and family goals take centre stage this season as do snow-pants and sniffles; the annual FLA road trip kicks our house into high gear; Yummy, creative projects bubble up..throw in the Mayan prophesy, and 2012 is going to be all that and a bag of chips.

I feel like I missed my window to blog after Christmas. That happens, you know?

I wanted to craft a special ‘Guess What I’m the New Blogger at Yummymummyclub.ca’ type-post, but my modesty got in the way. I wrote a few drafts, wrote a few more, and then threw everything to the wind. I thought “When it feels right, I’ll write.”

And then I had this dream.

I was getting my hair re-blonded, and in the colourist’s mirror I saw the reflection of Chewbacca sitting behind me in a stylist’s chair. Naturally.

I turned around and heard him warble-growling about how he couldn’t do anything with his fur, and I suggested teasing it. Then the stylist brought out a Bumpit set and voila. My dream had a money-shot.

It was so awesome that I had to recreate it in Photoshop when I woke up.

So here you are.

Dear George Takei.. You are welcome. Love, Kat.

And by the way, in case you didn’t already know, I’m now also blogging for Yummymummyclub.ca. *Beam*

I have no tree up yet. I have no wreath. And yet my house looks like it’s totally getting its Christmas on. How do I do it?

I have figured out some dual-purpose decor that can at least look like they belong on your walls or shelves for 3 out of 4 seasons if you don’t have time to take them down in January. Which I never do.

So I just found out I have C Diff. Which I got from taking 2 broad-spectrum antibiotics for 7 days. Which I had to take because of an infection. Which I got from the D&C, which I had because of my missed miscarriage…And the green grass grows all around..

In other news, I’ve decided that Dominos suck.

I’m the kind of girl who organizes her bookshelves according to content and theme, and then again by visual impact. I’ve hidden all my books on palmistry and the history of pagan ritual, for example, behind my more ‘interesting’ and widely respected books on Zen Meditation and other large imposing volumes about esoteric theology.

My uterus needs a vacation. I have been trying to ignore this fact for some time, but it’s the plain truth.

For a couple weeks now I’ve been trying to figure out how to let people in on the weird ride that is my life. I’m used to letting things out and sharing pretty much everything, but over the past few months I consciously – no wait – I superstitiously decided that I was going to keep things to myself.
